Founded in 1974 as Anderson Youth Association, New Foundations Home for Children provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing continuum of services for children and families. We offer residential, foster, in-home, and transportation services based in Anderson, South Carolina and serving counties throughout the state.
Our services include residential group care, foster care, in-home intervention and family preservation, and transportation services.
Residential services are provided to children and youth, ages 10 to 21, in a structured, staff-intensive setting in Anderson County. Clients are referred by the Department of Social Services, Department of Juvenile Justice, and other state agencies. In addition to providing a safe and stable living environment, the program methods are strength-based, trauma-informed, and focused on well-being and family permanency. With older clients in residential care, there is an additional focus on independent living skills.
Our foster care and family services are happening out in the community. In service to foster children, we recruit, license, and supervise foster homes to help create a nurturing and stable environment for children in need. We also provide in-home case management services to strengthen and preserve at-risk families.
Since 1995, New Foundations has been nationally accredited through the Council on Accreditation for Children and Families (COA).
